The Freedom Theatre of Jenin is Touring Britain
April 2002. Spring in Bethlehem. A group of Palestinian freedom fighters seek sanctuary in one of the world’s holiest sites as the Israeli army closes in with helicopters, tanks and snipers. Along with the fighters are some 200 priests, nuns and civilians. The siege will last for 39 days.
This tense and claustrophobic scenario, riddled with moral dilemma, is the subject of a play written for the Freedom Theatre of Jenin‘s first-ever tour of Britain; and Frome Friends of Palestine are delighted to announce that this renowned Palestinian theatre company will be performing at the Merlin Theatre in Frome on Saturday May 30 for one night only. Tickets are £15/£10 concessions, and can be bought online at:
or over the phone from the Box Office (01373 465949).
The show starts at 7:45, followed by a Question-and-Answer session in which the
renowned film-maker Ken Loach will be taking part.
