Emirate Young Women Challenge Stereotypes
Seven young role models with stories of personal achievements were captured in a special video to showcase young, talented Emirati role models across the UAE.

The film, which recorded the stories of seven individuals each from a different emirate, was premiered at the Youth Forum at Zayed University, October 16, 2012. Under the theme ‘Challenging Perceptions, Exploring Opportunities’, the film began by telling the incredible story of 17-year-old figure skater Zahra Lari from Abu Dhabi, who became the first Emirati to compete in the sport on the international stage.
The narrative then moved through the UAE, featuring the theatre actor Ibrahim Ustadi, of Dubai, then Sharjah mountain climber Abdelaziz Kafoud, Ajman inventor Ahmed Al Mazrouei, Umm Al Quwain paper quiller Farah Al Fardh, Ras Al Khaimah fine artist Huda Al Dohory, and Abeer Zaid, a sign language teacher from Fujairah.
