Birmingham is Celebrating 200 years since the birth of the great Victorian writer Charles Dickens
One of many upcoming events celebrating 200 years since the birth of Dickens entitled ‘The Amusement of the People’: Dickens, Birmingham and the Theatre will include a Talk by Dr Tony Williams, Associate Editor of The Dickensian at Muirhead Tower Lecture Theatre and Atrium on Wednesday 29 February, 5.30 – 7.00pm

Dr Tony Williams, an Associate Editor of The Dickensian, co-author of Dickens’s Victorian London and Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Buckingham, will speak on Dickens’ connections with Birmingham and his fascination with the theatre and performance.
This talk, organised by the Cadbury Research Library: Special Collections, accompanies the exhibition ‘Charles Dickens: 200 Years’
in the Muirhead Tower Atrium showcasing rare book and manuscript material relating to Dickens’ life and works.
Exhibition open 10 January – 8 May, 9am – 6pm weekdays.
Drinks and light refreshments will be served in the Muirhead Tower Atrium afterwards. All welcome but please register for a place.
