Well-informed sources in Cairo claims that it is almost certain that Prime Minister Salam Fayyad will not be the next President of the Palestinian government,
to be announced within the next few days in Cairo, attended by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and President of the political bureau of Hamas, Khaled Meshaal.
The sources added that the new prime minister will be either “Mazen Sinokrot” or “Mohammed Mustafa,”. This result has been reached after reviewing a long list of names of candidates during the dialogue sessions between Fatah and Hamas. The claims are the list was reduced to four candidates, and those included “Jamal Alkhodary” and “Mamoun Abu Shahla”.
The sources said that the dialogue took six hours, devoting the first four hours to discussing the formation of the next Palestinian government, where the Fatah delegation proposed at the beginning the name of Salam Fayyad as a candidate for the prime minister post, which was rejected strongly by the Hamas delegation.
It has been agreed, to identify the names of the ministers of the coming government, also they agreed not to include in the new government, any names from the members of the government of “Salam Fayyad,” or any of the members of the government of “Ismail Haniyeh,”, and that the new ministers will be chosen upon criteria’s of talent and credible personalities, and approved by both parties.
