Lebanese MP, Bahia Hariri, meets a delegation from the Palestinian Association for Human Rights (Witness)

Lebanese Parliament Member, Bahia Hariri, received at her office in Majdelyoun a delegation from the Palestinian Association for Human Rights (Witness), including the Director of the Association Mahmoud Hanafi, Public Relations and Media Coordinator, Mohammad Al Shouli and the Representative of the Association in Tyre area Mahmoud Dawood.

The delegation thanked madam-Hariri for her humanitarian role regarding helping Palestinian refugees and facilitating their affairs, and her positive role in solving different issues related to Ein Al Hillweh refugees  and other camps.

The visiting delegation discussed a number of urgent demands concerning Palestinian camps and gatherings, such as:

Delays of permissions for accessing construction materials to the camps.

Complications for obtaining a permission to practice fishing for Palestinian refugees, particularly in Tyre area.

The position of Minister of Labour Jreissati about the right of Palestinian refugees to obtain work permits.

In her turn,  Mrs Hariri welcomed the visiting delegation, commended their   work  and emphasized their important role in following up humanitarian issues  related to refugees affairs. Regarding recent events that took place in Ein al-Hilweh, Mrs Hariri  talked about the Lebanese army leader ships’ intention  to ease the  procedures at  Palestinian refugees camps’ entrances to facilitate the daily life of  the refugees.

MP Hariri hailed the great efforts taken by all Palestinian factions, particularly the Islamic forces, and their awareness in dealing with those problems.

Mrs Hariri reassured the delegation of her permanent support for the Palestinian refugees and their human rights.

At the end of the visit, the delegation presented Hariri a copy of their annual report for 2011, released by “Witness” on the situation of the Palestinian camps and Palestinian gatherings in Lebanon.
