The leadership of the Algerian ruling national majority
party in parliament has closed its party’s headquarters at the state of Annaba,
540 kilometres east of the capital, fearing the anger of the nation after arresting
one of its leaders, found involved in a sex scandal. Echorouk newspaper has
reported that he was involved in a network of prostitution and shooting «porn»
films, run by a French national.

The Algerian newspaper
, Echorouk , reported Friday, that the posters of the list of candidates of the
Liberation Front Party for the state Annaba were vandalized, some were torn while
on other posters offensive words were written about the party and its
candidates. This reflected anger led to the decision to close the headquarters
of the party, fearing further damages and confrontations with the angry crowds
after evidence proved the involvement of one of the party’s leaders in the sex
scandal. The person in question is claimed to have took fifth place in the list
of candidates in the upcoming legislative elections scheduled for the tenth of
next month, May 2012.
Other sources working on this file of scandals, declined to
be identified, confirmed that the investigations revealed the involvement of other
high rank names from the Liberation Front Party, who’s honorary President is Abdelaziz
Bouteflika, and run by Abdul Aziz Belkhadem, the Secretary General of the Party
and the Personal Representative of the President of the Republic.
