Just Promoted Saudi caricature

Just promoted

A caricature by Saudi cartoonist Abdesalam Elhlayel reflects from his point of view the difference between men and women when it comes to expectations of a promotion at work.

The man tells his wife: You ought to congratulate me. I have been chosen as the best employee of the month.

His wife replies: 1000 congratulations. Tell me how much your salary is now.

It seems that from Elhlayel point of view, women do not see the empowerment side of a work promotion, they see things translated in cash and only figures count.
