Palestine newspaper in Gaza celebrates the world press freedom day by”The journey of thorns”

Palestine newspaper, that is based in Gaza city, has celebrated today the World Press Freedom Day that coincides with its fifth anniversary by an exhibition of photography entitled “The journey of thorns”, showing some of the outstanding shots taken by its photographers since the newspapers’ launch in May 2007.

 

The journey of thorns is a symbolic title referring to the fact that all the people of Gaza were forced by the Israeli terrorist gangsters out of their original villages in Palestine, which became after a UN resolution in 1948 the Israeli state, and the present residents of Gaza became refugees in some of the densest places on earth, and suffering the siege imposed by Israel for over four years.

Dr Khadr Aljamali, General Manager of Palestine newspaper spoke during the opening ceremony; of the substantial role the newspaper has played in carrying the message of national unity.

During the exhibition, the visitors and invited guests enjoyed a number of photos taken by the Palestinian photojournalists,  Yasser Fathi and Ali Jadallah, and they were offered the opportunity to have access to a number of special editions that were published by the newspaper over the past five years.
