AWMWC mourns Jordanian producer and screenwriter – Claire Naber
Arab Women Media Watch Centre in UK mourns the loss of the young producer and screenwriter Claire Naber wife Jordanian director Amin Matalqa, who lost her life while fight an incurable disease while she is in her mid-thirties.
‘We lost an active young talented Claire, while we are in desperate need for more women in the Arab filming production sector. We extend our condolences to her husband, family members, colleagues and friends’ said Iqbal Tamimi, Director of Arab Women Media Watch Centre in UK.
Claire has worked at the Jordanian Royal Film Commission and gave her total support to the Jordanian filmmakers at the Red Sea Cinematic Arts Institute has represented the Jordanian Royal Film Commission in Los Angeles.
Claire born to a Jordanian father and Australian mother played a small role in Amin Matalqa film “Captain Abu Raed” which was screened in a number of festivals and met world-wide success. She has co-write the scenario for the new movie “strangely in love” with her husband while fighting the illness.
