The Middle East Association will be hosting a briefing on Egypt with Jason Ivory, UKTI Director in Cairo.

Egypt Market Briefing
Thursday 18th June, 3pm-5pm
MEA Offices, 27 St James’s Street, SW1A 1HA

Following on from the extremely successful trade delegation led by Minister Tobias Ellwood in January, British companies are re-engaging with the Egyptian market. The Egypt Economic Development Conference held in March this year has also signified that Egypt is open for business, and several large projects are developing. The country has huge infrastructure and power needs, as well as the desire to provide skills and employment for its large, young population.

Jason was appointed as Director for Trade and Investment Egypt in May 2014. He has spent the last two years working as HR Business Partner for the FCO’s Middle East and North Africa Directorate which has resulted in him visiting Egypt on a number of occasions. As Director for Egypt, he has oversight of the two teams based in Cairo and Alexandria, covering a wide range of sectors.

The Suez Canal development is one project that will certainly be discussed, as well as other developments that hold a large amount of potential, and in which British companies should become involved. We look forward to hearing Jason’s thoughts on British-Egyptian relations and the development business environment in Egypt.
